If one wants peaceful mind, one cannot get it by thinking positively or negatively. One thinks positively that he will get his object and according to it one goes forward to the receiving point. When at receiving point, one is unable to get it after effort one becomes nervous for not receiving after effort.
One thinks negatively that he will not get his object and according to it, one does not go forward to the receiving point. When time has gone, one may think that he should have gone their to receive object which could have received. This makes one nervous.
For example:-
Ramesh wants to pick a bus from bus-stand to go out of station. Bus-stand is 2 kms. from his home which takes 20 min. to reach. He has 20 min. to proceed to bus-stop. At this time, he thinks he will not go because he does not have reasonable time to catch bus from bus-stand. Hence he does not goes. After 15 min. he thinks he should have gone to bus-stand which makes him tensed i.e. not get peace.

After reaching the bus-stand, if he finds bus, he will get more satisfaction. On contrary, if he does not find bus at that time, he thinks that he has already thought that bus would not have been catch. This will give him satisfaction but not make tensed because he has tried his level-best.
